The Byron Stripe Short is crafted from M.J. Bale’s exclusive Summer Tin Twill—a breathable cotton–linen blend woven from European Flax®-certified French linen and regenerative-farm cotton. Cut to a relaxed fit, it features an elasticated rolled-over waistband with drawcord fastening, side splits for ease of movement, and a three-pocket design with a rear pouch pocket. Rendered in a blue-and-white Hickory Stripe, the short is pre-washed in our Air-Wash process for a softened, lived-in feel. Reinforced seams and tonal stitching complete this lightweight, easygoing essential, designed to grow more personal with time.

A vegetal product of the flax plant, linen fabric is characterised by it's 'slubby' texture. It allows air to circulate and heat to dissipate, keeping you cool and comfortable in warm weather. It is also extremely strong, capable of withstanding regular wear and tear. Cotton, on the other hand, provides softness and comfort. Cotton fibres are smooth, breathable and have superior durability, retaining their shape and colour after multiple washes. When woven together, linen and cotton become the yin to the other's yang. The blend balances the lightweight and airy qualities of linen with the softness and versatility of cotton. Linen also strengthens the fabric, while cotton enhances its longevity.
