Pride & Provenance
From single-source Tasmanian Merino wool and Normandy linen to Australian cotton, M.J. Bale creates ‘garments of integrity’ from the world’s most ethical growers of sustainable natural fibres.
Kingston Farm, Tasmania
Considered one of the leading superfine Merino wool enterprises in Australia for fibre quality and consistency, Kingston farm in the Tasmanian northern Midlands is also a conservationist and carbon positive enterprise. The SustainaWOOL-accredited farm is home to 8% of all of Tasmania’s Indigenous grasslands and countless threatened flora and fauna. Fourth-generation farmer Simon Cameron adheres to regenerative agriculture practises, while providing his Merino flock with benchmark custodial welfare.
Kingston has been M.J. Bale’s single-source wool partner since 2015, as well as partner in our world-first methane-reduced wool trials since 2020. A percentage of every M.J. Bale Kingston sale is returned to the farm to be reinvested into land regeneration and biodiversity preservation projects.
Ashby Farm, Tasmania
Ashby farm is a fifth-generation extrafine merino wool farm located in the Tasmanian Midlands. Owned by the Bennett family since the late 1800s, the farm produces a lustrous, silky fibre grown in symbiosis with the natural environment. Ashby has been single-source knitwear partner since 2018 and is responsible for our soft, fine-gauge collection of crew neck, V-neck, turtleneck and long sleeve polo sweaters.
