Fibre Source
Silk is a fibre produced in the cocoons of silkworms, that are carefully unravelled and spun into thread, which is then woven into fabric. Silk has a natural lustre and sheen whilst being a strong and durable fibre that can withstand repeated wear and handling. It is also naturally moisture-wicking, which means that it can absorb sweat and other moisture without becoming damaged or discoloured. Grown in predominantly warm or temperate climates, cotton is harvested from the fluffy bolls of cotton plants. High-quality cotton fibres are soft, smooth, breathable and have superior durability, retaining their shape and color after multiple washes. When woven together silk and cotton become the yin to the other's yang. Silk-cotton fabric has the lustre, sheen and moisture-wicking properties of silk, with the softness and strength of cotton.
