Provenance

Provenance
Fibre-Fabric

Merino wool is a high-performance natural fibre renowned for its softness and wrinkle resistance. Wool fibres have natural elasticity that helps them recover from wrinkles quickly, resulting in a more polished look throughout the day. Merino wool is also soft, lustrous and strong, lasting decades if cared for properly. The addition of cotton improves the durability and shape of the fabric. Cotton fibres add strength and stability, reducing stretching and sagging over time. Cotton contributes to the blend's softness and smoothness. When compared to wool and cotton, silk has a natural lustre and sheen. Its also a strong and durable fibre that can withstand repeated wear and handling. When all three are woven together woven together, they achieve a harmonious balance: the soft texture and fantastic drape of wool is combined with the durability of cotton, and the lustre of silk producing a sophisticated yet easy to wear fabric blend ideal for every well-dressed gentleman.

Performance
Half-Canvas, Half Lined, Light Shoulder Padding

This jacket is created with a half-canvas, which is a 'floating’ layer of natural fibres stitched together between the inner and outer fabric of the jacket body. The half-canvas provides shape and structure, maintaining the jacket’s form through decades, when cared for properly.

This jacket is fully lined, meaning it has a protective layer of fabric running across the top of the back. The lining covers the jacket’s interior stitching, while adding structure to the suit.

Much like traditional Neapolitan tailoring, which strips out much of the suit jacket’s heavy shoulder padding, this jacket features 'soft shoulders'. This benefits men with more athletic shoulders and those in warmer climates (i.e., Australia), making the jacket lighter and a more sympathetic wear in hot/humid conditions.
